Denny is a contemporary Southwestern artist creating bold images of native Americans, New Mexican wildlife and desert compositions in acrylic. Although his work brushes up against abstraction, the bright colors and simple strokes he uses combine to create not only an image of the subject, but a vivid and simple representation as well. His work evokes the allure of the great Southwest while adhering to it's varied cultural nuances. He was formally taught drawing and painting at the University of South Dakota.
